About Ariella

I was born and raised in California as a child of immigrants. Throughout my life, I have been deeply drawn to understanding people's inner experiences, immigration stories, and feelings of belonging and alienation. After studying political science, I worked for over 10 years in business. I always knew, however, that I wanted to work in a space where I could connect deeply with others and facilitate lasting change. This led me to pursue my master’s degree at The Wright Institute.

My approach is primarily psychodynamic and integrates interventions from Internal Family Systems/Gestalt, mindfulness, and somatic therapy. My work with couples is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy, a research-based, empirically supported form of couples therapy.

In addition to my private practice, I work as a therapist at JFCS, where I support children and families. I previously trained at Richmond Area Multi-Services (RAMS), where I worked with individuals and couples struggling with severe mental health challenges.
